Ofsted Inspection 2018

Following our recent inspection we are pleased to share with you OFSTED’s letter to the school, which confirms the good quality of education provided at St Erme with Trispen School. A copy is attached to your email message or can be accessed from our school website, if you would like a paper copy of the report please ask at the school office.

The letter summarises our happy and successful school community; it celebrates our strengths and identifies our next steps in our continuing journey of self improvement to make this school the very best it can be.

Highlights:

‘Pupils at St Erme with Trispen achieve well ‘

‘Almost every parent … agrees that their child is taught well, is making  good  progress  and  the  school is well led and managed.’

‘Many (parents) say that the school is ‘fantastic’ , with several commenting on the interesting curriculum.’

‘Parents clearly see the school at the heart of the local community.’

‘Pupils are invariably polite and well mannered. Pupils enjoy school.’

‘Pupils  confirm  they feel safe at school because they can always talk  to someone  and  say that  bullying  does not happen in school.’

‘Writing is a strength of the school at all key stages.’

Our next steps:

‘Have  uniformly high  expectations  of  what  pupils  can  achieve  in reading and maths, so  that  a  greater  proportion  exceed  the  standards  expected  for their age.’

‘Match  activities  more  closely  to  pupils’ learning needs in maths’
