17th July 2014

Thursday 17th July 2014. To bring alive our learning about the Cornish coast, Years One to Six took to the water today. We took charge of our own Enterprise ferry and headed off from Truro down the Truro river and down the River Fal into the port of Falmouth. On the way we saw huge navy ships, canoes, the King Harry Ferry, sailing boats and enormous ships moored up in the river. Alex, Alfie, Lily-Mae and Leon learnt how to skipper the boat! In Falmouth, we spent the afternoon at the National Maritime Museum exploring the history and technology of boat building, finishing with a scrapheap challenge where we built our own boats and raced them across the pool. We had an amazing day and learnt a lot!
