The Government provides a package of funding for physical education (PE) and school sport. Through this ‘Sport Premium’ the Government is funding the support for delivery of PE and sport in primary schools. Funding is allocated through a lump sum for each school and a per-pupil top-up mechanism.
At St Erme we are using our funding to enhance PE and Sport through a range of measures;
- Sports coordination and competitions through Penair School Sports Partnership
- Quality and continuing professional development for our staff
- Employment of specialist coaches to support our teaching and provide ongoing cpd for staff and to offer specialist after school clubs
- Providing additional sports opportunities such as outdoor experiences and surfing lessons for pupils in Key Stage 2.
